Sight, with style

About a year and half ago, my glasses got broken, a fairly clean snap of the frame to the left of the nose. This happened when I was drunkenly rough-housing with a five-year-old kid (what? like you haven't!? Riiight.) and he either kicked me in the face or I directed his wildly-flailing leg into my head (the same kid pictured in this post on the M-Brane blog with Tommy and Flat Cat; how cute is that?). Anyway, I glued it back together. And did so again several times over the months since then because it is very expensive to get new eyewear and I was not able to work it into our formerly very meager budget. But today, I went ahead and got new glasses. But that required a new eye exam and a new prescription, which meant also getting new prescrip sunglasses.

So,  below I appear in both new pair (or is it "pairs?") of glasses.  The frames of the regular ones are somewhat larger than what the old ones were (which I am told is in style now, to go bigger, who knows), and the sunglasses are out-and-out Ray-Ban Wayfarers which I assume will ease the usual comparisons between between me and Tom Cruise and President Kennedy (also pictured below right before his own glasses got broken by a five-year-old). [kidding]
